“to the king of Egypt; and you shall say to him, ‘The LORD God of the Hebrews has met with us; and now, please, let us go three day’s journey into the wilderness, that we may sacrifice to the LORD our God.’” Exodus 3:18
From the burning bush, God stated that the goal of the exodus is that His people could sacrifice to (worship) Him. The ten plaques and miraculous signs and dramatic exit distract from the main purpose. God was and is calling out to Himself worshipers.
God established, in Leviticus, feasts throughout the year so His people could come to Him and worship Him with sacrifices and offerings. Thanks to Jesus Christ’s death on the cross, animal sacrifices are no longer necessary. Christ’s blood washed away our sins forever (Heb. 10:12). However, God’s main goal is still for His people to worship Him (John 4:23-24).
God is calling us out of our worldly bondages, like the Israelites out of their slavery in Egypt, and the woman at the well out of her sin. God is calling us to come out and worship Him.
Father God is seeking true worshipers (John 4:23). True worship is not merely rituals or ceremonies performed in a certain building or place. True worship comes from a sincere attitude of the heart. Sincere worshipers cultivate a relationship with God, discovering how He wants to be worshiped.
Now is the hour to worship the Father in spirit and in truth (John 4:23-24). This has been God’s heart’s cry from the beginning. Now is the time to leave our bondages behind and come out to worship God. He has provided deliverance in Jesus Christ. Now is the time to cultivate a spiritual relationship with our God, who is the Holy Spirit. Now is the time to discover how He would like to be worshiped. Do not delay. NOW is the hour!
