But the priests, the Levites, the sons of Zadok, who kept charge of My sanctuary when the children of Israel went astray from Me, they shall come near Me to minister to Me; and they shall stand before Me to offer to Me the fat and the blood,” says the Lord God. Ezekiel 44:15
While Israel played the harlot, a remnant of priests continued to worship and serve the One True God. Therefore, God commended and blessed the sons of Zadok for their faithfulness.
God blessed them by saying:
-They shall come near to Me and minister to Me (v.15).
-They shall stand before Me to offer the fat and the blood (v.15).
-They shall enter My sanctuary (v.16).
-They shall come near My table to minister to Me (v.16).
-They shall keep My charge (v.16).
As a New Testament priest (1 Pet. 2:9), I seek the same commendation, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” I want to be among the faithful few who receive the blessing. Here is how I read that list of blessings:
-I am invited into honored nearness with God Himself, to worship and adore Him.
-I am privileged to stand before Him and offer my obedience to the Holy Spirit (the fat/oil) and Jesus (the blood).
-I am rewarded with the invitation to enter into His presence.
-God serves me delicious spiritual food (revelation) from His table that I am honored to serve back to Him.
-God trusts me to keep His holy things.
Friend, perhaps you feel like your nation is chasing after things that are not of God. I know I do. Let me encourage you to continue to love and worship and serve Him. Be faithful, even if everyone goes astray. God commends and rewards His faithful ones. God will bless you!
