You are holy, enthroned in the praises of Israel. Psalm 22:3 NASB
Pam left our church because our pastor “wouldn’t take a stand” on a political topic she felt passionate about. But is that the role of the church?
Is politics the vehicle for the change we want to see in this world? Will the “right” candidate revive hearts to God? Will the “correct” political party bring the end time harvest that we pray for? I contend that only God’s Kingdom can bring that kind of change.
How do we establish God’s Kingdom? He is enthroned on the praises of His people. The power of God’s Kingdom is directly related to our praise of Him. “Enthroned” in Hebrew indicates that wherever God’s people exalt His name, He is ready to manifest His Kingdom power. Our praise and worship invite Him to do what only God can do.
In a very real way, we are the entry point for God’s Kingdom to come, for His will to be done on the earth. God gives us the privilege of partnering with Him to bring His changes (not ours). And it all begins with our prayerful, praise and worship.
We will not find lasting change in this candidate or that political party. Real change begins with praising God. As we praise and worship Him, He establishes His throne in our hearts . . . and on the earth.
Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but I will trust in the Lord my God (Ps. 20:7). Amen
