And since we now have a magnificent King-Priest to welcome us into God’s house, we come closer to God and approach Him with an open heart, fully convinced by faith that nothing will keep us at a distance from Him. For our hearts have been sprinkled with blood to remove impurity and we have been freed from an accusing conscience and now we are clean, unstained, and presentable to God inside and out! Hebrews 10:21-22 TPT
Yesterday I “corrected” my sister in Christ. My words were not a rebuke, . . . but they were not encouraging either. Since, I strive to be the encourager, my heart filled with regret. The enemy took advantage of the situation and reminded me of all the other times I have failed to be encouraging . . . and worse!
Every time the enemy replayed the things I said or did, I reminded him that God forgave me, and I am cleansed. However, the struggle drained my joy and robbed my sleep. That is why I am sitting here in the pre-dawn hours with my Bible in my lap.
To my great joy and relief, the Holy Spirit directed me to Hebrews chapter 10. Instead of harping on my mistakes, the Holy Spirit was reminding me of our confidence before God. Jesus’ blood has freed me from an accusing conscience. Praise God, I am clean, unstained, and presentable to God inside and out! No matter how many times I fail, I can approach God with an open heart. Nothing can separate me from the love of God in Christ Jesus (Rom. 8:38).
The writer of Hebrews goes on to say that in light of this hope we have through the blood of Jesus Christ, we should encourage each other to love and good deeds.
So, let me encourage you. Perhaps, like me, you are being mentally assaulted with your every mistake. Remember, once you have confessed your sin, God has already forgotten it (Ps. 103:12). Jesus’ blood has freed you from an accusing conscience. So, it is not the Holy Spirit needling you for your failings; that is the voice of the enemy. Cling to the hope we have in the blood of Jesus Christ. Rehearse the benefits of your relationship with Him: purified, freed, cleansed, and unstained. You are presentable to God inside and out! Nothing can separate you from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Now, you are fully equipped to be the encourager today. Go and be a blessing!
