I laid prostrate on the floor in prayer with a blank piece of paper in front of me. I was attempting to rewrite the children's story on hearing God's voice. The first draft simply wasn't working.
I prayed for some time, but no story came to mind. Finally, I had the idea that I should review the spiritual journals I had written for my daughters when they were little. Two of the entries inspired me. I recorded the stories at the top of my blank page. Now, at least the blank page wasn't staring ominously back at me.
I wrote some dialogue from those incidents. However, the story needed some action. Dialog only is boring, especially to kids. So, I prayed some more.
Eventually, it was time to fix dinner. As I prepared food, I watched "It's Supernatural" by Sid Roth. In his interview with Dennis and Jen Clark, they talked about teaching adults and children how to live in the secret place. And there it was! Just what I needed for this particular children’s book, at the moment I needed it. God’s timing was perfect!
These are just two examples of how God brought me exactly what I needed, just when I needed it. I have many other examples of dreams and ideas that have come from God, just when I needed them. I decided to record these two in my spiritual journal so that I could read them later and be encouraged.
I thought maybe you could use some encouragement too. Have you been praying for what seems like a long time? Maybe you are waiting for strategies in your work, or breakthroughs in your personal life. Rest assured, God's timing is perfect. I encourage you to keep praying. He will bring you what you need, just when you need it.
